Sloan C Presentation

You will find my a VoiceThread for my Sloan C presentation below. I would love to hear about the types of tools that you use for your discussions in your class. The last slide of the presentation invites you to participate in my VoiceThread to share your favorite tools. Keep in mind that you will need to sign up for your own VoiceThread account to participate.

An Example of a VoiceThread Class Discussion

Here is an example of a quick class discussion in VoiceThread. This particular VoiceThread was the first VoiceThread used with these student.  For the first VoiceThread, I do not require my students to record their voices. I also allow them to type comments for the first discussion. This helps them to get acquainted with the technology. I  also do not ask my students to post pictures of themselves. Some students are very private. They may choose to record their voice and use an avatar. I frequently type my comments for VoiceThreads because they are assignments. Then students can access their individual comments.

Student VoiceThread Examples

Here are a couple of my student VoiceThread examples. I like for students to create the presentations because it allows me to "hear" how they articulate their ideas. Sometimes this is better than posting exclusively to an asynchronous discussion board.  VoiceThread is always used in conjunction with asynchronous discussion boards in my classes. My class is for k-12 educators. I believe that if my students are able to create VoiceThreads, they can offer on-demand learning opportunities for their school communities.

Keep in mind that you will find varying skill levels in the examples below.
